Privacy policy
QuoteChecker ("QuoteChecker", "we", "us") is a free referral service operated by Nebula Ventures LLC. It connects property owners in the Charlotte region with independent local land clearing, excavation and well drilling contractors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- What you tell us on the form: the work you need, details about the property (such as acreage, what's on the land, or where a well would go), property ZIP code, timing, notes and any photos you add.
- Your contact details: name, email address and mobile number.
- If you ask us to email you the guide: your email address, your first name if you give it, the estimator choice you made (acreage and what's on the land), whether you ticked the box asking for a crew to contact you, and the ad or link that brought you here.
- Basic technical data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and the ad or link that brought you here. This comes from cookies and similar tools used for analytics and ad measurement. We also record usage events, such as which step was reached and which fields were used or left empty, but never what you typed.
How we use it
- To send your project to up to three independent local contractors who may be able to do the work.
- To email you about your request.
- To email you the guide you asked for. That's one email: asking for the guide doesn't sign you up to a mailing list, and we won't email you again unless you reply or ticked the box asking for a crew to contact you.
- To measure which ads and pages work, and to improve the service.
- To prevent fraud and comply with the law.
Who we share it with
- Contractors. When you submit the form and agree, we share your project details and contact information with no more than three independent contractors. They may contact you by phone, text or email about your project. Contractors pay us a referral fee. Once they have your details, their own privacy practices apply.
- Guide requests: not shared with referral partners unless you ticked the box asking for a local crew to contact you. If you did, we may share your name, email address and estimate with up to three independent local land clearing contractors, who may email you about a quote. Contractors pay us a referral fee.
- Service providers who help us run the site, store data, send email and measure advertising (for example, website hosting, email delivery, analytics and advertising measurement providers). They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your information to data brokers, call centers or marketing lists.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies to understand site traffic and to measure whether our ads lead to requests. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Usage analytics and session recordings
We use technical and usage information, including visit identifiers, page interactions and advertising attribution, to measure and improve the site. Analytics may include session recordings with form inputs masked. This information is not necessarily anonymous. Advertising and analytics providers may process device identifiers and cookie data. Browser settings and any available consent controls let you manage cookies; blocking them may affect some features.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months, then delete or anonymise them. We may retain limited records longer where needed for legal obligations, disputes or evidence of consent. Deletion requests are subject to those requirements; backup copies are restricted from ordinary use and expire under the applicable backup schedule. Earlier commitments continue to apply to information collected under them.
Your choices
Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent, or to make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity. Available rights and exceptions depend on applicable law; we respond within the time it requires. You may complain to your local privacy regulator, including the OAIC in Australia.
To stop contact from a contractor, tell that contractor directly. We will also pass on your request if you tell us. Referral consent remains limited to the recipients and purposes you agreed to.
Children
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
